Simple Enough

This is how we know we’re living steadily and deeply in him, and he in us: He’s given us life from his life, from his very own Spirit. Also, we’ve seen for ourselves and continue to state openly that the Father sent his Son as Savior of the world. Everyone who confesses that Jesus is God’s Son participates continuously in an intimate relationship with God. We know it so well, we’ve embraced it heart and soul, this love that comes from God.

1 John 4:16 MSG

What is simple faith?  Even though it starts with the word “simple” it is in fact quite complicated at times yet only because we seem to make it that way.  In our busy lifestyles as life has us doing a million and one things at the same time, we find it hard sometimes to fit sharing Jesus into our over booked schedules.  Sure we go to church and we attend Sunday school class and maybe a Wednesday class to further our “education” of Christ, but do we take it anywhere else?

So often we leave Christ on that cross and we know that we are saved.  We know what He has done for us.  We know the impact His death made in our lives, yet we seem to want to keep Him all to ourselves sometimes.  There are so many hurting and dying people on this earth it would make any Christian’s head spin.  As a matter of fact it seems overwhelming many times.  So we try to give out our little tracts and leave nice notes for waitresses.  We give where there is a need.  We try to show Jesus to others through our gifts and actions.

My husband and I stepped out in faith in church along with several other people and we accepted the anointing of moving into that next step in our ministry.  I am not sure how anyone else felt, but I know I experienced an intense love form the Father.  I felt pulled closer to His side than ever before.  As my husband and I continue to seek God we are discovering that it is easier to share Jesus in the simple things.  Everywhere we go we just talk to people and take the time to maybe just say hi.

When it comes to sharing Jesus with others we just have to go at it with the insight that everyone deserves a chance to meet Jesus and if they say no, remember it is not you that they are rejecting but rather they are rejecting Jesus for their lives.  We have to keep pressing into God for wisdom and strength so that we can continue to move forward for His Kingdom.  We all have a plan and a purpose for our lives and God may have it that you bring one person to Christ or ten thousand.  You might be the one person who introduces Jesus to the next Billy Graham or you might speak in front of thousands of people yourself.

Witnessing for Jesus is a life long process.  We need to just live a simple lifestyle which displays Jesus to every walk of life.  If we preach it, we have to practice it.  If we share the Word of God, we have to believe it ourselves.  We have found that more and more people are just drawn to the Jesus in us and we really don’t have to do much, people just want that tangible presence of God that we carry within.  If you have accepted Jesus into your heart then you too carry the presence of God where ever you go.  Just be who you are in Christ and people will see Him, it’s as simple as that.

Lack of Potential Syndrome

Colossians 3:15-17

Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Let the Word of Christ—the Message—have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out to God! Let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way.
When God created the earth He had communion in mind.  He created a space to find peace.  He created running waters to sooth the soul.  He designed stars for a glamours night view.  He added a sprinkling of birds and animals to roam. Then He created His masterpiece…man.  Made in His image and for the purpose of a relationship.  On top of that He has provided everything we need to survive.  How have we gotten so far off track?
As I am here in the middle of Thanksgiving preparation I am forced to rest in between preparations just because of timing, I can’t do everything all at once…God did not rest during the creation process until the seventh day, what commitment.  He was so excited to bring life to what He created that He did not take time to breathe in between.  What if we loved God and only rested in Him, not stopping in the flesh to rest, but to lay down our lives and rest IN Him?  What if we kept busy with the things of God the whole time?
In today’s society we are often so beaten and abused by those who are suppose to love us that we develop a lack of potential syndrome in our lives.  We can only hear the words “You’re not going to amount to anything” so many times before we begin to believe it.  Or how about “You’re not doing that right” and someone just takes over what we are doing and does it their right way?  I could list so many more awful things which we have been flooded with in our lives that we would all be depressed by the time I got done.  Let me share this with you:
Our God sees your potential. He has programmed you to love.  He believes in your dreams and He sees your heart.  Begin today to see yourself as God does.  Reflect on the fact that you begin as a purpose…to have a relationship with the One Who created this very earth.  Disregard all of those hurtful things which have been spoken over you..they no longer matter.  Begin right now to accept you are loved.  You are wanted.  You are desired. You matter.  Yes, you…YOU matter to God.
I pray today on this Thanksgiving that we begin to allow our broken pieces to mend and give our shattered selves to Jesus, He is the only one that can heal our pain.  He is the only one who will not tell you lies.  He will bring truth to any lies spoken to you.  I pray that each of you finds self-worth today for I am thankful you read these words I spiel out.  God has a purpose for each of our lives with the end result being UNITY IN HIM.. Yes, resting IN Him allows us to hear His heart and stay in tune.

Revive Your Life

Exodus 3:2
There the angel of the LORD appeared to him in a blazing fire from the middle of a bush. Moses stared in amazement. Though the bush was engulfed in flames, it didn’t burn up.

Alright!  Time for some reality!  Are you really doing what you are called to do?  Are you really satisfied with your life?  Perhaps you feel as though you are just going through the motions…church on Sunday mornings, Bible study on Wednesday and then it’s just work and a series of life events smooshed in the middle.  Does your life have a purpose? Does your life represent that fact that Jesus resides in your heart?  Are you winning souls for Jesus are making disciples of others?  Do we as a body look like the city on the hill like we are suppose to be?

As I have been present again at revival meetings, I can feel God tugging on my heart strings even harder than before.  I will be getting my website up soon and moving ahead with what God is asking me to do.  I am surrendered and ready to move wherever He says to go and to do what ever He says to do.  I am at a point in my life where I know who I am in Christ.  I know that I know that I know God is wanting to use me to do great things for His glory or I would not have two books at the publishers waiting for funding with thoughts of a third book floating around in my head.

Just like God pursues us, we must seek Him out.  We need to search our hearts and see how far we are willing to go for God.  Our time is short here on this earth, the Bible makes that very clear that we are but a vapor.  Why do we spend so much time on the what ifs and not enough time on the how can we’s?  What defines a person, their accomplishments or values?  Are we judged by how many things we accumulated in life or by how many people we shared Jesus with?  I feel we all need to spend some time seeking just what our purpose is.  I feel I am on the verge of something very big with God and I feel more secure than ever in my relationship with Him.

I know that I am suppose to be a Christian writer and my ministry is for the broken hearted and hopeless.  Will I be perfect at it? NOPE  Will I make mistakes along the way? YES  But I know that I know that I know, God will not lead me astray and there will be doors open and opportunities for me.  I pray that anyone reading this will begin to feel the tug on their heart to seek God and to ask Him what their purpose here on earth really is.  I pray that the road before you is golden and you will see clearly what God has in store for you.  Be the Light others need to see to be lead out of darkness.  Choose to become an overcomer and press into the things of God.
